In health tube now we discuss risk factor, sign and symptoms, and prevention of hypertension. Hypertension is a major health issue worldwide. First, let me define hypertension.Sustained high blood pressure is known as hypertension.
Blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg taken on at least two occasions is considered as hypertension. this value may differ with age and disease condition.

Stage 1 (Mild HT) 140-159/90-99Stage 2 (Moderate HT) 160-179/100-109
Stage 3 (Severe HT) 180-209/110-119
Stage 4 (Very severe HT) 210/120
Primary or Essential Hypertension
In this type of hypertension, no cause can be identified and it accounts for 90% of cases of hypertensionSecondary Hypertension
In this type of hypertension, the cause is known which might be other disease or abnormality like- Renal Failure
- Renal artery stenosis
- Coarctation of aorta
- Cushing syndrome
- Hyperthyroidism
- Pregnancy
It accounts for 10% of hypertension cases
Hypertension In Pregnancy
