Antiplatelet Drugs
Antiplatelet drugs are those drugs which inhibit platelet aggregation which is helpful in preventing blood clotting.here are some drugs which does not allow platelets in blood to aggregate.
1) ASPIRIN and NSAIDS
2) ADP INHIBITORS(clopidogrel,prasugrel,ticlopidine)
3)PDE INHIBITORS(dipyridamole,ci
lostazol)
4)glycoprotien 2b/3a inhibitors
here are few endogenous mediators which trigger platelet aggregation.
1) ADP
2)THROMBOXANE
3)THROMBIN
4)FIBRIN
IMPORTANT to note is
substances that increase intacellular cAMP(cylcic adenosine monophosphate) reduces platelet aggregation.
